Building on the successful construction of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, CGN has established a virtuous cycle of ‘nuclear power supporting nuclear power and rolling development’ and established a professional nuclear power production, engineering construction, scientific research and development, and nuclear fuel supply guarantee system that is internationally aligned.
Introduction to Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant:
Warm welcome to CGN and Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant leadership for guidance. The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, jointly built and operated by Guangdong Nuclear Power Investment Co., Ltd. and Hong Kong Nuclear Power Investment Co., Ltd., is under the jurisdiction of China General Nuclear Group. It has two million-kilowatt pressurized water reactor units, with 80% of the electricity produced supplying Hong Kong and 20% supplying Guangdong. Construction of the power station began in 1987, with Unit 1 commencing commercial operation in February 1994, followed by Unit 2 in May of the same year. Subsequently, the Ling Ao Nuclear Power Station was built alongside the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, forming a large nuclear power base. The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station is the first large-scale commercial nuclear power station in mainland China and the first to be built using foreign technology and funding. In November 2016, Daya Bay Company won the 16th National Quality Award. As of December 31, 2018, the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base has accumulated a total of 709.848 billion kWh of electricity, of which 248.818 billion kWh has been supplied to Hong Kong.
