3.Die casting machine introduction:

The die casting machine is a machine used for pressure casting, including hot chamber and cold chamber types. Both are further divided into vertical and horizontal types. Under pressure, the die casting machine injects molten metal hydraulically into the mold where it cools and solidifies. Upon opening the mold, solid metal castings are obtained. Initially used for die-casting lead type, die casting technology has seen rapid development with advancements in science, technology, and industrial production, especially with the development of industries such as automobiles, motorcycles, and household appliances.

In a die casting machine, metal is melted outside the machine and then poured into the compression chamber using a ladle. Depending on the direction of movement of the compression piston, it can be classified into vertical cold chamber die casting machines and horizontal cold chamber die casting machines. In the vertical cold chamber die casting machine, molten metal is taken out of the furnace and poured into the compression chamber, where it is hydraulically injected into the mold by the compression piston. Excess metal is pushed out by another piston.

The horizontal cold chamber die casting machine operates similarly to the vertical one, but the direction of piston movement is horizontal. Most modern die casting machines are horizontal.

Cold chamber die casting machines can cast metals with higher melting points, such as copper alloys.

Hot chamber die casting machines, classified by their chamber structure and arrangement, come in two forms: horizontal and vertical. In hot chamber die casting machines, the crucible containing the molten metal is attached to the machine, and the piston mechanism for hydraulically injecting the metal into the mold cavity is installed inside the crucible. Some hot chamber die casting machines directly use compressed air to inject the molten metal into the mold without a piston mechanism.

Hot chamber die casting machines are mainly used for casting alloys with lower melting points such as zinc and tin.

Die casting machines mainly consist of mold clamping mechanism, injection mechanism, hydraulic system, and electrical control system, among other components. Additionally, die casting machines have parts such as components, machine bases, other devices, and auxiliary equipment.

Mold Clamping Mechanism
Drives the die halves to close and open. When the molds are closed, it has enough force to lock them in place, ensuring that the parting surfaces of the mold do not separate during the injection filling process. The force required to lock the mold is called clamping force, measured in kilonewtons (kN), and is a primary parameter indicating the size of the die casting machine.

Injection Mechanism
Pushes the molten metal inside the chamber at a specified speed, with enough energy to flow through the runners and gates in the mold and fill the mold cavity, then maintains a certain pressure to transfer to the solidifying molten metal until the casting is formed. After the injection process is completed, the injection plunger returns to its original position.

Hydraulic System
Provides sufficient power and energy for the operation of the die casting machine.

Electrical Control System
Controls the execution of various actions of the die casting machine according to the predetermined program.
