1. Dongfeng Cummins Engine Factory Introduction:
Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Dongfeng Cummins” or “the company”) is located in the High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Xiangyang, Hubei Province. It is a modern medium and heavy-duty engine manufacturing company jointly established by Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Cummins Inc. with a 50:50 equity ratio. The company was established in June 1996, with a registered capital of over USD 100 million and a total area of 26.23 hectares. It currently employs 2,500 people.
The company’s products include Cummins engines from the B, C, D, L, and Z series, meeting the National IV and V emission standards for vehicles and the National III emission standards for non-road vehicles. It also has the capability to upgrade to the National VI and National IV emission standards. Engine displacements range from 3.9L to 13L, with power coverage from 80 to 680 horsepower. These engines are widely used in light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, mid-to-high-level intercity buses, large and medium-sized city buses, construction machinery, marine main and auxiliary engines, and power generators. The products are well-received domestically and internationally for their advanced economy, power, reliability, durability, and environmental safety.
Cummins Inc. is the largest global manufacturer, designer, and seller of diesel and compressed natural gas engines, and Dongfeng Motor Corporation is one of China’s largest truck manufacturers. Dongfeng Cummins leverages the global production system of Cummins Inc. to receive strong support in product development, manufacturing, quality, and management, continuously enhancing the competitiveness of both the company and its products to provide high-quality engines to customers.
The collaboration between Cummins and Dongfeng Motor Corporation began in the 1980s when the country proposed to update truck engine projects and introduce world-leading products. Cummins quickly seized this opportunity and successfully developed into a partner with the predecessor of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, the Second Automobile Manufacturing Plant. In 1986, Dongfeng Diesel Engine Plant began licensed production of Cummins medium-power B series engines. After the expiration of the production technology license agreement between the two companies, Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Cummins Inc. established Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. with a 50:50 equity ratio in June 1996.
