1. Introduction to the Suzhou Metro Project:
Suzhou Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd. was formerly known as Suzhou Rail Transit Co., Ltd., established in May 2002. It is a large state-owned enterprise directly under the municipal government. The group completed its merger in 2013, forming an integrated structure covering rail transit planning, construction, operation, resource development, and property management. It currently consists of 7 departments, 7 subsidiary companies, centers, 5 externally invested companies, with a total of over 3,000 employees.
Suzhou Rail Transit closely follows the pace of Suzhou’s economic and social development. In accordance with the unified deployment of the municipal party committee and government, the planning and construction of rail transit projects were timely initiated. In February 2007, the city’s first round of rail transit construction planning received approval from the State Council. On April 28, 2012, after four years and four months of construction, Line 1 of the rail transit system opened ahead of schedule, making Suzhou the first prefecture-level city in China to construct and operate a rail transit system. On December 28, 2013, Line 2 opened six months ahead of schedule, marking the formal entry of Suzhou Rail Transit into the era of networked operation.
In January 2012, the city’s second round of construction planning was approved. In September of the same year, construction began on the extension of Line 2, Line 4, and branch lines, planned to be operational in 2016 and 2017, respectively. On December 16, 2014, construction officially commenced for Line 3 of the rail transit system. It is expected that by 2020, the entire Suzhou Rail Transit network will present a network pattern of ‘three vertical and four horizontal’ lines.

In October 2015, Songjiang Group provided several batches of corrugated compensator products for the Suzhou Metro project. The flanges are made of carbon steel, and the corrugated parts are made of stainless steel 304.
