The Main Hydraulic Oil Cooling System Rubber Expansion Joint for Taishan Nuclear Power Plant
Shanghai Songjiang Vibration Absorber Co.,Ltd.official website presents: Information about the rubber expansion joints for the main hydraulic oil cooling system of Taishan Nuclear Power Plant. Songjiang Group provides high-quality rubber expansion joint products for numerous nuclear power projects and became a qualified supplier for the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) Gansu Nuclear Technology Industrial Park in 2019.
1. Introduction to Taishan Nuclear Power Plant:
Taishan Nuclear Power Plant was established in July 2007. On November 26, 2007, witnessed by then Chinese President Hu Jintao and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Qian Zhimin, Chairman of China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN), signed the “General Agreement on Cooperation in the Construction of Units 1 and 2 of the Taishan Nuclear Power Plant in Guangdong Province” with Anne Lauvergeon, CEO of Areva, and the Chairman of Electricite de France (EDF). This marked a new starting point for the group’s development towards third-generation nuclear power construction.
On September 7, 2019, the second EPR (third-generation pressurized water reactor) unit in the world was put into commercial operation.
Taishan Nuclear Power Joint Venture Co., Ltd. is a Sino-foreign joint venture invested by China General Nuclear Power Group, Electricite de France, and Guangdong Yudean Group. It is responsible for the financing, construction, operation, and management of the first phase of the Taishan Nuclear Power Plant and bears the ultimate responsibility for nuclear safety.
Located in Chixi Town, Taishan City, Guangdong Province, Taishan Nuclear Power Plant is planned to have six pressurized water reactor nuclear power units. The first phase of the project introduced third-generation nuclear EPR (European Pressurized Reactor) technology and constructed two nuclear power units with a single unit capacity of 1.75 million kilowatts. After the completion of the first phase of Taishan Nuclear Power Plant, it is estimated to reduce coal consumption by about 8.42 million tons annually and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 22.7 million tons.
The first phase of Taishan Nuclear Power Project is the largest cooperation project between China and France in the field of energy in China. Taishan Nuclear Power Joint Venture Co., Ltd., jointly invested and established by CGN, EDF, and Guangdong Energy Group, is responsible for construction and operation. Data shows that after the completion of Units 1 and 2 of Taishan, it is estimated to reduce coal consumption by about 8.03 million tons annually and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 21.09 million tons, equivalent to afforestation of 5,850 hectares.
The first phase of Taishan Nuclear Power Project adopts third-generation nuclear technology (EPR), constructing two nuclear units with a single unit capacity of 1.75 million kilowatts. EPR technology was jointly developed by EDF and Framatome, which recently became a subsidiary of EDF. This technology absorbs the operational experience feedback and technological progress of pressurized water reactor nuclear power units accumulated internationally over the past 40 years, with the main technology having undergone operational verification of more than 357 pressurized water reactor nuclear power units worldwide for more than 40 years.
