1.Introduction to Chery Jaguar Land Rover Changshu Plant:
The Chery Jaguar Land Rover Changshu Plant production base includes manufacturing facilities, research and development centers, and supporting facilities. The manufacturing facilities comprise key processes such as stamping, welding, painting, and assembly, along with related auxiliary facilities and equipment.
The total area of the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Changshu Plant is approximately 810,000 square meters. The expansion of the plant includes the renovation of existing production lines, factory buildings, and public works, as well as the construction of a new assembly workshop (approximately 50,000 square meters), expansion of the welding workshop (approximately 32,000 square meters), and related supporting facilities. Upon completion of the expansion, the total floor area of the plant will increase by 90,000 square meters, and the production capacity will increase by 70,000 vehicles, representing a nearly 50% increase.
The first model produced at the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Changshu Plant was the domestically produced Range Rover Evoque, which was launched on February 1, 2015. The second model, the Discovery Sport, was launched in the fourth quarter of the same year. In the future, the plant will manufacture and sell vehicles under the Land Rover and Jaguar brands (the domestically produced Jaguar XE sedan is expected to be launched next year), as well as joint venture independent brand vehicles tailored for the Chinese market.
The Chery Jaguar Land Rover Changshu Plant will invest 6.67 billion yuan in plant expansion, renovation of existing production lines, and the construction of a second assembly workshop (approximately 50,000 square meters). The future goal is to increase the annual production capacity by 70,000 passenger vehicles, representing an increase of over 50% compared to the original capacity, and achieve an annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles.
