1.Qingdao Metro Line 8 Project Information Introduction:
The Qingdao Metro Line 8 originates from Jiaozhou North Station in Jiaozhou City, passing through the Hongdao Economic Zone, Licang District, Shibei District, and terminating at the Wusi Square in Shinan District. The total length of the line is approximately 60.74 kilometers, with a total of 15 stations and a design maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The total investment in the project is about 32.151 billion yuan, including approximately 160 million yuan for environmental protection. The project is scheduled to commence construction by the end of this year and be completed in 2021.
The stations along Qingdao Metro Line 8 include Jiaozhou North Station, Jiaodong International Airport Station, Jiaodongzhen Station, Hetao Station, Hongdao Station, Central Business District Station, Administrative Center Station, Huaqiang Road Station, Dayang Station, Qingdao North Station, Qugezhuang Station, Changsha Road Station, Jiadingshan Park Station, Anshan Road Station, and Wusi Square Station, totaling 15 stations, with a design maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The main line connects Jiaozhou City, Hongdao High-tech Zone, Licang District, Shibei District, Shinan District, and other areas, serving as a rapid backbone line connecting Qingdao’s new airport, the north bank urban area, and the east bank urban area. The total length of the line is 60.74 kilometers, with 53.66 kilometers underground, 0.53 kilometers at grade, and 6.55 kilometers elevated, with a total of 15 stations, including 14 underground stations and 1 elevated station.
The section under Jiaozhou Bay spans 5.4 kilometers. According to information from Qingdao Decoration Network, the section under Jiaozhou Bay for Qingdao Metro Line 8 is between Qingdao North Station and Dayang Station, located under the northeastern part of Jiaozhou Bay, at the mouth of the Red Island East Bay, with a total section length of 7.926 kilometers, of which the maritime segment is 5.4 kilometers, and the rest is on land. This section is an important node project of Qingdao Metro Line 8 and is the second underwater tunnel in the city after the subway Line 1 underwater tunnel.
The section runs underground from Dayang Station in Hongdao along Aodongnan Road, passes through Jiaozhou Bay east of the toll station of Hongdao Expressway, and is laid along the planned green space of the Jiaozhou Bay East Coast reclamation project to Qingdao North Station. Dayang Station is a two-story island station, and Qingdao North Station is an island station, both of which have completed construction and reserved interface conditions for the Qingdao Metro Line 8 section. Connecting to the new airport and Hongdao Station, Qingdao Metro Line 8 will pass through two major transportation hubs, namely, Jiaodong International Airport and Hongdao Station.
Currently, the construction of the Jiaodong International Airport rail transit project has been initiated. This project includes the construction of the Qingdao Metro Line 8 Jiaodong Airport Station and tunnel section, as well as the construction of the city rapid transit Jiaodong Airport Station and related tunnel sections. When completed, the project will become the country’s first comprehensive transportation hub integrating high-speed rail and metro with zero transfer. It is located in the core area of the airport, adjacent to the airport terminal, and consists of two main parts: a parking building and a transportation transfer center. The total construction area is approximately 200,000 square meters, with the parking building covering about 150,000 square meters, mainly for parking vehicles, and the transportation transfer center covering about 50,000 square meters, mainly for connecting with high-speed rail and metro, as well as serving as a public transportation and commercial service facility.
