1.Information about the Inner Mongolia Polyethylene Methyl Methacrylate Project:
The construction of the first domestic “10,000-ton Ethyl Glycolic Acid (PGA) Project” has commenced in Jiuyuan Industrial Park. This project is a key industrial project in our city and an extension project of the coal-to-olefin industry chain. With a total investment of 550 million yuan, the project will cover an area of 97.67 acres. It will establish the first domestic production line capable of producing 10,000 tons of PGA annually, achieving a breakthrough in the field of biodegradable plastics (PGA) in China. PGA is a synthetic polymer material with good biodegradability and biocompatibility. Unlike traditional stable polymer materials such as plastics and rubber, PGA gradually degrades over time and ultimately becomes harmless water and carbon dioxide to humans, animals, plants, and the natural environment. Therefore, it can be used in many fields such as medical sutures, fracture fixation materials, tissue engineering scaffolds, and food packaging.
The project will be implemented in two phases. By the end of 2018, the first phase, with an annual output of 1,500 tons of PGA, will be completed. It is estimated that by the end of 2019, after the completion of the second phase, with an annual output of 8,500 tons of PGA, the first domestic 10,000-ton Ethyl Glycolic Acid production scale will be achieved.
