1.Introduction to the Phase II Project of Wuxi Vision Power Battery Manufacturing Base:
The Phase II project of the Wuxi Vision Power Battery Manufacturing Base has commenced construction in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Du Xiaogang, Secretary of the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee, Xu Feng, member of the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Jiangyin Municipal Party Committee, Zhang Lei, CEO of Vision Group, and other officials.
The Phase II project of the Wuxi Vision Power Battery Manufacturing Base will produce the latest generation of high-quality power battery products, with a planned capacity exceeding 15GWh. It is expected to be completed and put into operation by 2023.
Currently, Vision Power has established seven major production bases and multiple research and engineering centers in China, Japan, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom, with a global capacity expected to exceed 200GWh by 2025. In June 2021, Vision became a comprehensive electric vehicle strategic partner with Renault and constructed France’s first digital and green power battery super factory in Douai. In July of the same year, Vision deepened its strategic cooperation with Nissan and established the world’s first zero-carbon new industrial zone integrating automotive production, battery manufacturing, smart grid, and renewable energy power systems in the UK.
The Wuxi Vision Power Battery Manufacturing Base is located within the “Vision Green Technology Industrial Park” in Wuxi. The Phase I project achieved mass production in 2021. Together with the Vision Smart Wind Turbine Manufacturing Center and other new energy industry layouts, the battery manufacturing base has formed two hundred billion-yuan-level green technology industry chains of “energy + transportation,” jointly leading the zero-carbon new industrial revolution.
