The geological conditions are complex, with layers ranging from fully weathered to slightly weathered rock formations, posing significant excavation challenges and risks.
Due to the narrow construction space and high temperatures exceeding 38 degrees Celsius inside the tunnel, ventilation was difficult. To address this, the project team installed axial flow fans on the ground and in the middle pilot tunnel to improve ventilation and reduce temperature. Additionally, ice-making machines were purchased to deliver ice blocks regularly into the tunnel, creating a better working environment for the construction staff.
To ensure the smooth pouring of the first lining and to achieve high-quality construction during the Year of the Tiger, the project team held multiple on-site discussions to optimize resource allocation and strengthen process monitoring. They refined annual, monthly, and weekly plans, breaking down construction tasks into daily goals to ensure timely completion of each milestone. Furthermore, safety-themed party lectures were organized at the construction site, where real cases were shared with frontline workers to raise awareness and promote a culture of safety.
