Chongqing BOE’s 8.5th Generation New Type Semiconductor Display and System Project
In 2014,Shanghai Songjiang Vibration Absorber Co.,Ltd.provided rubber expansion joint products for the Chongqing BOE project’s central air conditioning system. Songjiang Group has consistently supplied high-quality rubber expansion joints for various BOE projects across different regions, including Hefei, Chengdu, Chongqing, Fuqing, Ordos, and others.
On July 17th, the Chongqing BOE 8.5th Generation New Type Semiconductor Display and System Project was launched in the Liangjiang New Area. The total investment in the project is 32.8 billion yuan, and it will produce display modules for laptops, tablets, high-end monitors, touchscreens, and complete TV sets. It is expected to be completed and put into operation by mid-2015.
City leaders Huang Qifan, Ling Yueming, Chen Heping, BOE Chairman Wang Dongsheng, President Chen Yanshun, and HP Senior Vice President Tony attended the launch ceremony.
Huang Qifan stated that in recent years, the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Government have actively adjusted the industrial structure in accordance with the central government’s strategic requirement of “adjusting structure while maintaining stable growth.” They have vigorously eliminated backward and excess capacity, optimized and upgraded traditional pillar industries, and vigorously developed strategic emerging industries. The electronic information industry, represented by network terminal products, has rapidly emerged from scratch and become an important support for Chongqing’s industry. Thanks to the strategic adjustment of the industrial structure, Chongqing’s economy is full of vitality and has achieved sustained and stable development. The launch of the Chongqing BOE 8.5th Generation New Type Semiconductor Display and System Project is another major measure for Chongqing to further deepen the adjustment of its industrial structure.
Huang Qifan emphasized that the implementation of the project reflects three aspects of integration: First, the integration of market and technology. Chongqing’s network terminal product base has a huge market demand for display panels, and BOE is the only enterprise in China that has independent intellectual property rights for liquid crystal panels and can produce a full range of flat panel display products. The cooperation between the two sides can achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, further enhancing the comprehensive competitiveness of Chongqing’s network terminal product base. Second, the integration of capital and technology. The Chongqing BOE project adopts Oxide TFT (Thin Film Transistor) technology, which is one of the main production technologies for future high-end displays. The project’s capital reaches 19.7 billion yuan, providing effective support for the timely completion and production of the project. Third, the integration of solving supply-demand imbalances and improving competitiveness. The Chongqing BOE project will not only effectively alleviate the supply shortage of such products in the market but also is a key measure for BOE to further enrich its product line and enhance its competitiveness.
