3.Introduction to Rubber Joints from China Railway Engineering Machinery Research Institute (CRRCME):

Good elasticity, with excellent adaptability to compression, tension, torsion, and vertical displacement, preventing damage to pipeline systems caused by thermal expansion, contraction, or uneven settlement of the foundation.

Outer rubber layer: Nitrile rubber. Nitrile rubber, with the English code NBR, is resistant to oil, high temperatures, and aging. It has a tensile strength ≥13MPa, elongation at break ≥500%, permanent deformation ≤30%, brittle temperature resistance ≤-30°C, and adhesive strength ≥2.0DN/m. Since the outer rubber layer of the rubber joint is exposed to the air and susceptible to external factors, it requires characteristics such as oil resistance, heat resistance, and ozone resistance. To address these conditions, we use nitrile rubber. Through a reasonable formula, nitrile rubber is mainly suitable for hydraulic oil and other oil products, as well as several types of special oils that cannot be used (aviation kerosene, gasoline, diesel). The highest temperature resistance of nitrile rubber can reach 120°C, with a brittle temperature range of -15°C to 55°C.
